Meet our Jury Presidents

Han Sanping (Mission Impossible III, The Warlords, The Founding of a Republic) is a renowned producer, director, and writer, having worked on over 400 films. Sanping was Chairman of the Chinese production and financing company China Film Group Corporation from 2007-2014, and while at the helm of this influential company, he played a central role in elevating China into the second-largest film market in the world. He has received numerous awards, including the Exemplary Chinese Leader Award and the China Film Director’s Guild Outstanding Contribution for Director Award.

Anthony McCarten

Anthony McCarten is a four-time Academy Award ® nominee and BAFTA-winning screenwriter and producer. A true master of the biopic, McCarten has continually proven his innate ability to craft stories about a wide array of notable figures in a profoundly intimate way that reveals the most human, relatable sides of their lives. Impressively, McCarten’s last four produced screenplays have garnered three Academy Award wins for each of their respective lead actors, two Academy Award nominations for leads in the fourth film and three Best Picture nominations.

  • Lu Chuan

    Lu Chuan is recognized as one of the most influential directors in China. His films are known for commercial success as well as historical values and social awareness. His work includes "Ke Ke Xi Li", "City of Life and Death", "Born in China", "Chronicles of The Ghostly Tribe", "Beijing 2022" and "749 Bureau".

  • Donna Gigliotti

    Donna Gigliotti is one of only twelve women to win an Academy Award for Best Picture, receiving the 1998 Oscar for producing Shakespeare in Love. She also received three additional Academy Award/Best Picture nominations for Hidden Figures (2016) Silver Linings Playbook (2013) and The Reader (2008).

  • Chris Lee

    Chris Lee, a motion picture and television producer, was the first Asian American to run production at a Hollywood studio as the President of Production at TriStar Pictures and Columbia Pictures.

  • Nattawut “Baz” Poonpiriya

    His second feature, "Bad Genius", was released in 2017 and was a huge success, both in Thailand and at the international box office. In 2020 he made his first international movie with Jet Tone Films, "One For The Road", which won the special Jury Award for Creative Vision in the World Cinema Dramatic Competition at the 2021 Sundance Film Festival.

  • Paula Wagner

    Paula Wagner has worked in the top ranks of the entertainment industry as a film and Broadway producer, talent agent and studio executive. She has made films all over the world and has been actively involved in promoting international co-productions. Ms. Wagner is a co-founder of Cruise/Wagner Productions, where she produced notable films such as Mission Impossible I, II, III, The Last Samurai, Vanilla Sky, The Others, Shattered Glass, and executive produced Steven Spielberg’s War of the Worlds. In all, films produced by C/W earned more than $3 billion in worldwide box office receipts.
